“NIMITZ”- By E. B. Potter. The biography of America’s greatest admiral; Chester W. Nimitz. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Admiral Nimitz was appointed commander of the U. S. Pacific Fleet. During World War II, he spearheaded the impressive Naval victory over the Japanese. Following Nimitz through his entire life, until his death in 1966. However the primarily focus deals with the turbulent times of World War II. Author E. B. Potter served in the United States Navy during World War II and rose to the rank of Commander. Mrs. Nimitz chose Potter to write her husband’s biography after his death. A few years later Potter wrote “Bull Halsey” the biography of Admiral William ‘Bull’ Halsey. 1976 Hardback edition with dust jacket, see photo above. Dust jacket suffers from shelf wear, causing a marks on the front cover. Not torn––now covered in new, clear protective plastic. This is NOT a book club edition––a larger book.  507 pages, 18 B/W photos, 23 maps and an index. Large maps appear inside front and back covers.
