He saw action aboard several American boats, the first being USS Finback (SS-230). Commander “Pete" I.J. Galantin (author of "Take Her Deep") was his skipper in USS Halibut (SS-232). Serving aboard USS Hawkbill (SS-366) the executive officer was the famous George Grider who went on to skipper
USS Flasher (SS-249) and wrote "War Fish." McLeod's "Sub Duty" was never published in hardback. This is a 1986 first edition Softbound (8 1/2 inches tall, 5 1/2 inches wide). 581 pages, 9 maps, 25 B/W photos and countless diagrams with an index. A very difficult book to find, long out of print.
