Sailor.” McLeod saw action aboard American submarines in the Pacific,
serving in USS Finback (SS-230) USS Halibut (SS-232) and USS Hawkbill
(SS-366). This was the author’s first great novel of World War II
submarines. Join the sub service with seaman Ham, and become a
crewman on the (fictional) submarine, USS Terrapin, that became the
scourge of the Japanese in the far Pacific. Follow the teamwork and
